08-02-2010

The 2010 KWPN Stallion Show is now history. A total of 28 dressage horses, 40 jumpers, 6 harness horses, and 4 Gelder horses were selected for the performance test. Both stallion selection committees expressed satisfaction. Arie Hamoen spoke about the breadth of quality in the riding horses: "I think we've taken a huge step forward with this selection." The KWPN Stallion Show attracted strong interest through the last day, drawing a total of approximately 30,000 spectators, and 50,000 visitors logged on to the KWPN website over the four-day show. "Wonderful to have so much interest!" said Hamoen. "The Stallion Selection Committee provides breeders with a great deal of information and thus insight into the direction of KWPN breeding and its areas of focus. We need to value this huge interest!"

However, horse enthusiasts and breeders were not the only ones to show overwhelming interest in the KWPN Stallion Show. Non-equestrian press also flocked to the Brabanthallen in droves to report on the success of the Dutch Sport Horse. The KWPN Stallion Show generated news in the papers and on radio as well as television.

Interest from abroad was also huge. Horse enthusiasts throughout Europe as well as the United States, Canada, Ukraine, China, Russia, and Austria came to the Netherlands specifically for the KWPN Stallion Show. Exciting sport, fantastic horses, dedicated staff, horse owners, volunteers, and thousands of visitors helped make the 2010 KWPN Stallion Show a huge celebration and a great success.

The KWPN thanks everyone for their interest!
