Vivaldi wins Pavo Cup five-year-olds
KWPN-stallions dominated the Pavo Cup-competitions.
The competition for five-year-old horses went ultimately between Vivaldi (Krack C x Jazz), ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud and Vivaldo (Polansky x Montecristo), ridden by Mirelle van Kemenade-Witlox. In the end Vivaldi got most points, twice a score of 10, from guest riders Carl Hester and Seth Boschman. With a total of 382 points he was the winner. Vivaldo stayed close behind with 380,5 points, and got 10 points from Seth Boschman and 9.5 from Carl Hester. Carl Hester: “Vivaldi is the best five-year-old I have ever ridden. He has such a great power, you hardly have to do anything to present him.”
The third place was for the best gelding in the competition, Vontango B (Contango x Jazz) with Madeleine Witte-Vrees. At the fouth place came the third KWPN-stallion in the Pavo Cup-final, Johnson (Jazz x Flemmingh) with Hans Peter Minderhoud. The best mare in the final of five-year-olds was Vironia ridden by Christa Laarakkers. The KWPN-stallions Citango (Contango x Jazz ) with Nars Gottmer and Voice (De Niro x Rohdiamant) with Imke Schellekens-Bartels followed in sixth and seventh position.
The KWPN-stallion Westpoint (Jazz x Michelangelo) was the outstanding winner of the four-year-olds. With three times equal points from the guest riders the score of the first final round determinates the numbers 1, 2 and 3. The KWPN-stallion Wynton, ridden by Madeleine Witte-Vrees ended in the second position. Seth Boschman was very charmed by Wynton, Carl Hester was lyrical about Westpoint. Karolus van Wittenstein (Krack C x TCN Partout), ridden by Patrick van der Meer became third. “Also very nice to ride”, according to both guest riders.
Winoa (Jazz x Flemmingh), ridden by Bart Veeze, was the best four-year-old mare. She became fourth. A lot of people in the audience talked about Winoa being such a great mare.
Wodini (Gribaldi x Zeoliet), ridden by Alex van Silfhout who rode the mare because of illnes of her rider, were placed in a nice fifth position. Another mare, Wendolyn II (Briar x Donnerhall), ridden by Emmelie Scholtens, finished in the sixth position. Carl Hester was very enthusiastic about the three mares. “I like horses with a strong ‘engine’ and these three all have”, he said.
