Vivaldi won the Z-level dressage class of the GMB Stallion Competition with an almost perfect test. His extensions demonstrated a light-footed, off-the-ground elegance that few can imitate. The judges’ words said it all: “This stallion has everything we want to see in a dressage horse.” Vivaldi scored a 10 for his trot.
The judges also gave high scores to Johnson who showed great expression and submission in his test, placing him second. Santano, the impressive bay stallion ridden by Edward Gal, performed a very relaxed test and demonstrated a beautiful ground-covering trot. He finished third.

In the M-level class of the GMB Stallion Competition, the final battle was between the Jazz sons Wynton and Westpoint, as has been the case in other competitions. Edward Gal recently started showing the stallion as his regular rider Madeleine Witte-Vrees is pregnant. Scoring one point more than his immediate competitor, Wynton won the class. The stallion has incredible movement: a trot with abundant suspension, an ability to collect extremely well, and outstanding balance. The trot is Wynton’s best gait, for which he received a 9.5. His walk and canter scored 9’s.

Westpoint and Emmelie Scholtens placed second. The judges also had great appreciation for this stallion. He scored a 9.5 for his walk and 9’s for his trot and canter.
Finishing third was Lord Leatherdale (s. Lord Loxley) with Anne van Olst.

The L-level class winner was the very handsome Zizi Top (s. Tango) with Hans Peter Minderhoud. The stallion scored high, earning a 9.5 for his expressive trot with excellent articulation of his joints.
Ziësto also did well and finished second. The stallion showed excellent cadence in his trot, for which he scored a 9.5.
Finishing third was Zambuka with Jennifer Sekreve. The stallion’s rhythmic, powerful canter and beautiful frame earned him a 9.

Hans Peter Minderhoud and Florencio won the Freestyle in the VHO Trophy competition. In a repeat of last year’s performance, Minderhoud showed the dark bay stallion to his full potential and won the trophy. Minderhoud’s other mount in the Freestyle was Tango, whose son Zizi Top won the L-level class earlier in the evening with Minderhoud. Tango placed second.
Finishing third was Scandic with Patrick Kittel. The combination performed an outstanding Grand Prix-level freestyle. Scandic shined as never before and earned a standing ovation from the audience for his beautiful and correct freestyle.
