To qualify for recognition, a stallion must demonstrate excellence in international Grand Prix competition through its own performance or those of its offspring, or a combination of the two. The stallion selection committee does not test candidate stallions for conformation and correct movement as they are not required to meet KWPN health regulations (i.e. radiographs and respiratory health). However, the committees do record comments on stallions that do not meet these requirements and give considerable weight to radiograph results before granting a stallion recognized status.

Although the stallion selection committees do not test prospective KWPN-recognized stallions for conformation and movement, they do evaluate their sport careers and/or breeding results. In turn, foals by recognized stallions are registered in the Foal Book, and upon reaching age three, are automatically accepted into the Studbook.

The stallion selection committee for jumpers has recommended to the Board the recognition of the jumpers Vegas, Clinton, and Calvaro. Last night, the Board accepted the committee's recommendation. The attached supplement introduces the new recognized stallions.
