Lancelot Approved Again
After a five-year waiting period, the stallion Lancelot (Voltaire x Nimmerdor) has been reapproved for breeding. In 2004, he was placed on the watch list because his seven-year-old offspring did not perform as well as other relatively young stallions of the same age. However, several Lancelot offspring have shown themselves capable of higher level work at a later age, thus raising the stallion's breeding value to an acceptable level. This development and Lancelot's 18 international show jumper offspring - seven of which compete at Grand Prix level - have led to the stallion's removal from the watch list. Among his most successful Grand Prix offspring are Pavarotti (Todd Minikus), Rosinus (Geoff Billington), and Robin (Peter Wylde). Lancelot's current breeding value is 119 with a reliability of 94%.
