Fenix is in the lead of the four-year-olds of the Pavo Cup. In the Pavo Cup semi-final for five-year-olds, Emmelie Scholtens rode the 2014 reserve champion Fenix (Vivaldi out of Unifee ster by Houston, breeder: H. Germs of Midwolde) to the top score of 91 points this morning!

Gert van den Hoorn and Monique Peutz were very impressed by the performance of the dark bay, awarding him 9.5's for his walk and trot, and an 8.5 for his canter. With an 8.5 for harmony and a 9.5 for dressage talent, he laid the foundation for a place on the podium. Fenix's stellar score proved out of reach for his fellow competitors. Following in second place is the KWPN stallion Five Star (Amazing Star x Jazz), whose uphill canter and swinging trot received an 8.5, and whose relaxed and rhythmic walk even scored a 9. With a 9 for harmony and an 8.5 for talent, his score totaled 87 points.

Last weekend in Verden, the chestnut stallion finished in fifth place and attained the best score of the KWPN's five-year-olds. His rider is Kirsten Brouwer, who always shows the stallion very correctly. Kirsten also showed the stallion Ferdeaux (Bordeaux x Ferro), who likewise competed in this year's World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses. “We enjoyed his performance,” said Gert van den Hoorn. The lowest score was for the walk, but you can't really call an 8.5 "low." With another four 9’s, Five Star's total was 89 points, good for third place. The stallions Franklin and Four Legends scored 86 points each.
