Under Albert Zoer, the Zirocco Blue VDL son Florian P powerfully jumped to the first Champion title of the day: the Isah Cup for five-year-olds. Willem Greve claimed both second and third place with two Carambole offspring: the KWPN-approved stallion Forsyth and Formidable.

The field of 15 delivered thrilling sport in the jump-off of the Isah Cup for five-year-olds. The leader in the interim standings, Feestje B (Eldorado van de Zeshoek out of Vera Linn s.Kojak, breeder: G. and G.F. Inc. Brinkman of Zutphen) and Björn Egberink unfortunately didn't have luck on their side today: after posting two faults, they exited the ring. The turn of events put Albert Zoer with Florian P (out of Beyoncé ster sport-jump s.Cardento, breeders: P.W. Pijnacker and T.F. Pijnacker of Augsbuurt) in a strong position for the jump-off, in which the duo jumped another convincing clear round and secured the Champion title. “What a fantastic horse! Rio will be too soon for him, but I think he has unlimited potential,” explained Albert Zoer, smiling broadly. The top rider used to compete Florian’s dam Barbarella in the international sport at the 1.50m level and notices many similarities between the mare and her son. Willem Greve also had a good day with two top five-year-old talents. With the KWPN-approved stallion Forsyth (Carambole out of Tyraja J keur s.Voltaire, breeder: A. de Jong of Chaam), registered to Reinie Tewis and Lauw van Vliet, he impressively finished in second place. The powerhouse is usually ridden by Richard Kapteijn; however, he broke his fibula last week, which has kept him out of the show ring. Last weekend, Lauw van Vliet went to Stegeren and offered Forsyth for Willem Greve to show in the Isah Cup. Although Monday was his first time to ride the stallion, he still captured the Reserve title in the Isah Cup! Willem Greve also excelled with another offspring by his top horse Carambole: the very cooperative Formidable (stb.name: Femke I HZ, out of Rebecca II ster prest s.Calvados, breeder: H. Zagers of Koekange).

Nine horses have qualified for the World Championships in Lanaken through the Isah Cup. In addition to the three mentioned above, these include the talented jumper Follow Me (Andiamo out of Fonelle R s.Winningmood van de Arenberg, b/rp: W.H. Leisink of Panningen) with Maikel van Mierlo, the athletic Falanita ster prok (Corland out of Balanita elite EPTM-jump, breeder: Joop van Wessel of Zwartebroek) with Lennard de Boer, the scopey Formentera elite IBOP-jump (Diamant de Semilly out of Varoline I ster prok sport-jump s.Cassini I, b/rp: Stoeterij Broere of Alblasserdam) with Patrick van der Schans, the sharp Fearless stb prok (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve out of Silverdance keur s.Lux, breeder: G.B.M. Berendsen of Etten) with Maikel van Mierlo, the strong jumper Finn’s Pride elite EPTM-jump (Querly Elvis out of Beasanette s.Apple Juice, breeder: P.M. Derijks of Pijnacker) with Olivier van der Vaart, and the bloodhorse-type Favoriet U (Arezzo VDL out of Bumanda keur IBOP-jump s.Ukaot, breeder: W. Uenk of Nijbroek) with James Gilmartin.
