After the preselection rounds in Ermelo, Roosendaal and Zuidbroek we can make up the interim score for the grand finale of the Isah and Blom Stallion Competitions. During the KWPN Stallion Show powered by  Massey Ferguson the KWPN-stallions will compete against each other once again. It seems we are in for a thrilling competition!

Currently leading the rankings in the M dressage class of the Isah Stallion competition is the powerful mover Ferdaux (Bordeaux out of Part Two ster pref prest s.Ferro, breeder G. van Esterik from Ochten) with Kirsten Brouwer. The talented stallion won in Roosendaal and placed second in Ermelo and Zuidbroek, both times closely behind the appointed Wynton-son Four Legends KS (out of Vienna elite pref s.Ferro, breeders Hans and Grietje Jansen-Blankenham from Joppe) and Marieke van der Puten. Joyce Lenaerts and the very fit Firestone (Johnson out of Zelza-Bella ster s.Florencio, breeder A.J.G. Flierman from Ruurlo) hold the second place in the intermediate rankings. In the Z class only one stallion participated in every round. Annemarie Brouwer steered Electron (Ampère out of Zamba Sollenburg ster prok EPTM-dres s. Fidermark, breeder Adri Zekveld from Almere) to their highest score, 72 points, in Zuidbroek. Meanwhile the competition was more fierce in de L class. Nevertheless also this level has a clear front runner in the rankings. The incredibly talented Glock’s Toto Jr. (Totilas out of Desperada s.Desperados, bred by Schmidt from Naumburg) claimed three victories with Marieke van der Punten. In Zuidbroek they received an astonishing score of 92 points. Adelinde Cornelissen rode his half brother Governor (Totilas out of Orleans elite pref prest s.Jazz, breeder J.B.J.M. Streppel from Wilp) to the second position in the rankings, followed by Ferguson (Floriscount out of Liebelei s.Lauries Crusador xx, breeder E.Luetjen from Grasberg) with Kirsten Brouwer.

Jumping stallions

The stallions in the Blom Stallion competition are also well-matched. This is perfectly shown in the combined Z/ZZ class, where the KWPN-approved stallions Blom’s Ever Blue (Zirocco Blue VDL out of Thissonnevanck elite s.Indorado, bred by H. and Erik Veenstra from Nuis) with Mitchel Sonneveld and Edinburgh (Vleut out of Olympic Queen keur sport-spr prest s.Darco, bred by Evert Meijer and Gerard Lindeboom from Dalfsen) ridden by Kristian Houwen guarantee an intriguing end finale. The two stallions have created a notable gap between them and the other participants. The distance in scores between the stallions is smaller in the M class. The winner in Ermelo, Isah Cup-champion Florian (Zirocco Blue VDL out of Beyoncé P ster sport-spr s.Cardento, bred by P.W. and T.F. Pijnacker-Dam from Augstbuurt) again got through to the jump-off with his rider Albert Zoer in both Roosendaal and Zuidbroek. The duo is currently leading the rankings, but the gap is small and the following stallions are surely still in the race for the title: Floris TN (Quality Time out of Arisinaa elite IBOP-spr v.Vancouver, bred by H. Breukink from Vorden), Fibonacci (Carambole out of Waomi stb pref v.Pythagoras, bred by Jan Greve from Haaksbergen) and Farfan M (Cantos out of Nikita ster pref prest v.Lux, bred by J.C. Mailly from Boijl). The year most buzzed about is the L class in the Blom Stallion Competition. This age category shows a lot of talented stallions. Judge Nathalie van der Mei called Grandorado TN “a dreamhorse”! Everywhere he goes, the Eldorado van de Zeshoek-son (out of Charmieque elite IBOP-spr EPTM-spr sport-spr v.Carolus II, bred by M. Rietberg and D. Verhoeven from Holten) receives the highest score. So it is no suprise that Grandorado TN is the ultimate favorite for the victory of the competition in Den Bosch.
