Out of a group of 42 dressage stallions presented in the second round viewing at the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson today, 26 stallions were, via the third round viewing, invited for the KWPN performance test. Amongst them five sons of Apache.

Top producer Apache made a good impression with his sons. Five are invited to prove themselves under the saddle in the performance test. Iniesta VDT (out of Velvet V.D.T. keur s.Ferro, bred and owned by Ad van de Tilaart from Zijtaart) and Igor (out of Crisjena keur IBOP-dres s.Vivaldi, bred by J. de Bruijn from Schelluinen) owned by Ad Valk, were invited for tomorrow’s championship round. The last stallion seemed to be the audience’s favourite. “The sons of Apache stood out in their upward movements and strong hind leg. We happily select further in the performance test,” responds Bert Rutten, who makes his debut as chairman of the stallion selection committee this season. “The breeding council instructed us to select more stallions for Ermelo, because there the horses can be assessed better in line with our breeding goals. This was not a difficult task today and we also were able to select a few stallions that could provide an interesting variation in bloodlines. For example, the stallions sired by Fürst Wilhelm, Voice and Connaisseur. Next to Apache, the brand-new keur stallion Johnson did well by getting three powerful moving sons selected.

Desperado and Dream Boy both had two sons invited to the performance test. Ierland (Dream Boy out of Zaragoza keur IBOP-dres s.Jazz) of Stoeterij Broere was also invited to the championships round. Bordeaux also had two sons selected for Ermelo, amongst which the to the championships round invited Idool N (out of Wiana ster pref s.Jazz, bred by J.A. and B. Naber from Vredenheim) owned by Joop van Uytert. The fifth candidate that is selected for tomorrow’s championship round, is the Cupido-son Indiana Jones Platinum (out of Zitagea keur IBOP-dres sport-dres s. Special D, bred by H.P. Cazemier from Bunne) owned by Titan Wilaras.
