The jury and the enthusiastic audience were once again on the same page in the three-year-old stallion championships. The Apache son Igor proved to be a true king of dressage as he showed off his powerful gaits  to the prestigious title.

Out of a total of 40 appointed stallions (see previous news reports), eight stallions were selected for the championships round. Amongst them two sons of the top inheritor and Grand Prix-stallion Apache. Champion Igor (out of Cristjena keur IBOP-dres by Vivaldi, breeder: Jan de Bruijn from Schelluinen) owned by Ad Valk combines an attractive appearance, impulsive movement, great posture and self-carriage and a lot of power from behind. In addition, he was bred out of a highly interesting pedigree, with his dam Crisjena having passed the IBOP with 84,5 points and being the champion of the National Mare Championships for three-year-olds. “This incredible Apache son convinces every time he starts moving. He has a generous model and fantastic movements, which has acquired him many fans!”, explained Bert Rutten. Igor received the most competition from another powerful mover: Dream Boy son Ierland (out of Zaragoza keur IBOP-dres by Jazz) owned by Stoeterij Broere in Alblasserdam. “The attractive Dream Boy son has three good gaits, showing big strides and abundant impulsion. Since the first round viewing he clearly has developed well.” The youthful Dark Pleasure-son It’s A Pleasure (out of Dozette keur IBOP-dres by Blue Hors Zack, bred by W.L. Plaizier from Heerjansdam) owned by G.R. Plaizier from Heejansdam, could line up in third place. He is one of products of his sire’s first year’s progeny and comes out of a dam-line boasting many predicates. It’s A Pleasure is light-footed and moves with lots of suppleness. He was followed by the fantastic mover Iniesta VDT (Apache out of Velvet V.D.T. keur by Ferro), owned and bred by Ad van den Tillaart from Zijtaart. Naber from Vredenheim) owned by Joop van Uytert, that moves with abundant power and impulsion.
