After two great days full of dressage, the KWPN Select Sale for dressage stallions on Saturday brought an end to the 2016 KWPN Stallion Show.

The tribune remained filled with enthusiastic viewers and buyers till the very last horse. The auction started off with a covering by Daily Diamond. It yielded an amount of 3000 euros, which will go to the DVB Foundation. The DVB Foundation aims to make the lives of disabled people a little bit better. The highest price was paid for Ixilon V (Johnson x Ferro). The attractive chestnut was almost sold for 80,000 euros, but just when auctioneer Frederik de Backer was about to announce the sale, a new player entered the game. For 85,000 euros Philippe Lautier from France issued the winning bid. Johnson-blood proved to be popular this auction, as the last horse of the auction, Ivar (Johnson x Farrington) will depart to Spain for 46,000 euros. Other horses were sold to England and Russia. ID United (United x Welt Hit II) entered the auction as a wildcard and will remain in the Netherlands for 60,000 euros. 23 horses were auctioned today: totalling a revenue of 769,000 euros, resulting in an average price of 33,500 euros.
