One of the highlights in the Pavo Cup preselection in Schaijk was the four-year-old top talent Horatio (by Florencio). With Dana van Lierop he scored a 9 for the canter and achieved a total of 84 points. On the 30th of July he will go under the hammer at the Excellent Dressage Sales in Ermelo.

Right after the impressive performance at the Central Inspection of Gelderland by two three-year-old mares from the special EDS collection, the four-year-old EDS-horse Horatio (Florencio out of Ultima ster prok by Jazz, breeders Tim and Leida Collins-Strijk from Riethoven) caught all eyes at the Central Inspection of Noord Brabant. Chairman Monique Peutz-Vegter explained that there none of the jury-members had any doubts about the talent of Horatio. “This four-year-old Florencio-son is a beautiful horse that truly stands out with his extremely good canter. He canters uphill, trots with a lot of technique and possesses a good walk.

He is a very ‘complete’ dressage horse that was very cooperative to the rider. And that is not an easy task here with the arena located right next to the inspections ring. We awarded Horatio never below an 8 for every element and we think he is very promising.” From 28-31 July the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses will take place, this year for the first time at the national equestrian centre in Ermelo. The Excellent Dressage Sales is an initiative of renowned names in the dressage industry: Tim Coomans, Joep Schellekens, Joop van Uytert and Nico Witte, in collaboration with KWPN.
