Today the finals of the Pavo Cup were ridden. Due to the rainy weather, they took place indoors in the Amalia arena. Happynesse E (s.Rousseau), Glock's Toto Jr (s.Totilas) and Fenix (s.Vivaldi) took home the title.

Pavo Cup four-year-olds

It may have been the lack of a peer in the arena or the change of scenery, but in general most horses experienced a lot more tension than last Monday. Consequently, many combinations were unable to match or improve their semi-final's score. Especially the KWPN-stallion  Total U.S. (Totilas out of Sondra by Sir Donnerhall, breeder Gestüt Lewitz, Steinfeld) had to give in points on harmony because of the tension. This resulted in a drop from position one to six in the rankings. In contrast, Happyness E (Rousseau out of Caja E elite IBOP-dres by Houston, breeder G.C. van Eck, Linde) seemed to feel very comfortable in the ring. With Lynne Maas the young talent scored 88 points in the final, one point higher than in the first round. A total of 175 made the pair the convincing winner. Jamsession Taonga elite IBOP-dres (Jazz out of Honeymoon elite EPTM-dres by Hotline, f/g: Stal 104 BV, Wijdewormer) and Vai Bruntink placed second and was therefore best mare, closely followed by another mare: Haley B IBOP-dr (Bon Bravour out of Oriona elite pref prest sport-dr by Jazz,f/g: J. Van Bove, Sint-Michielsgestel) with Marlou de Ruyter.

Pavo Cup five-year-olds

The number 1 and 2 of this age category already put some distance between themselves and the competition. In the final these two combinations kept their form and therefore remained their position in the final rankings. Glock’s Toto Jr. (s.Totilas out of Desperada, bred by Schmidt from Naumburg) and Marieke van der Putten received solely 9.5s. Monique Peutz on behalf of the judges said: "The fact that I did not take notes but only watched already says it all:  a lovely test that we truly enjoyed." Guadeloupe-Beau (s.Bordeaux out of Beau-Verina elite IBOP-dr, bred by P.Rulkens from Biest Houtakker) and Kim van der Velden matched their 92 points in the semi-final. Great Lady TC (s.Bretton Woods out of Tiffany’s Monday pref by Osmium, bred and owned by T.J.M. Coomans from Oud-Beijerland) and Jeanine Nieuwenhuis improved last Monday's score of 86 points by two points.

Pavo Cup six-year-olds

Fenix (s.Vivaldi out of Unifee ster s.Houston, breeder H. Germs, Midwolde), presented by Emmelie Scholtens, was already invincible last year, in this year's semi-final and today he scored 89 points, bringing the total to 177. President’s First Apple (s.Vivaldi out of Oogappel sport-dr s.TCN Partout, breeder N. van Maaswaal, ’t Goy) and Patrick van der Meer placed third in the semi-finals but scored three points higher today and thereby surpassed Fantastique (s.Vivaldi out of Bonbon stb s.Florencio, breeder P.Zwang, Dordrecht) and Lynne Maas.
