The first round viewing kicked off today with the dressage stallions. In the end, the Stallion Selection Committee gave the green light to 31 dressage stallions, which were praised for their beautiful conformation and good movement.

“It was a fruitful day today. Today, we mainly had sons of proven stallions in the ring, so we were able to advance several good movers by Vivaldi, Johnson and Negro to the second round viewing,” said committee chairman Bert Rutten. Several sons by established sires, such as Lord Leatherdale, Rousseau and Zhivago, as well as the popular stallion Sezuan, were also advanced to the second round viewing. Complete Horses “We started off well this morning on the hard ground, with relatively few comments about the legs. We were able to consistently select for good conformation and especially for good movement. We hardly had to make concessions on uphill movement and a hind leg that steps well under the body.” The stallions selected for the second round viewing still have a long road ahead, according to committee member Marian Dorresteijn: “In any case, we've invited some very nice prospective sporthorses to the next round. Horses with long-lined conformation and good movement.
