Martin Fuchs took a stunning home victory in the Grand Prix CSI5 * -W Zurich with the ten year old Verdi-son Chaplin. "For me this is a dream come true and it says a lot about the quality of Chaplin. We only form a pair for a short time", the Swiss rider says enthusiastically.

The battle in the Grand Prix (1.55m) in the Swiss top competition eventually went between two KWPN horses. It was Martin Fuchs with Chaplin (stb.name Cerberus W, Verdi out of Jaltha B elite sport-jump prest by Concorde, breeder G. Knoop from Slootdorp) who was the only one able to get a time below 37 seconds. Since last summer, the Swiss top rider forms a pair with the Verdi-son, who previously was successful with Dutch rider Jelmer Hoekstra. "Winning the Grand Prix of Zurich is a dream come true for me. Nothing is better than such a victory at home and Chaplin jumped fantastic. We are not so long a combination so it says a lot about his quality that we already succeeded here. We have a very good partnership and Chaplin is definitely one of my favorites", says the 24-year-old rider who last summer already became Swiss champion with the Verdi-son. "When I first saw Chaplin, I was immediately convinced of his qualities. In fact, we have bought him without trying him! Just like that, directly at a show. Chaplin is always in a good mood. He is very careful, lightning fast and has a super temperament. A real top horse! "On the sixth place in the Swiss Grand Prix finished the KWPN recognized stallion Vagabond de la Pomme (Vigo d'Arsouilles from Sauterelle de la Pomme by For Pleasure, breeder Haras de la Pomme from Le Pin) with Pénélope Leprévost, who got four faults in their rapid jump-off.

Twice Admara

Nearest the winning result of Fuchs and Chaplin in the 1.55m came Carlos Enrique Lopez with the ever zealous Padinus-son Admara 2 (from Somara ster prest by Murano, breeder André van Nuland from Nistelrode). With only 0,3 seconds they followed in second place. Also in the World Cup competition, that was won by Eduardo Alvarez Aznar with Rokfeller the Pleville Bois Margot (v.L'Arc de Triomphe), the Colombian rider made his mark with the Dutch top jumper. Again Admara did not come near the poles and their fast time was good enough for third place. With a 0/4 result Leprévost came with Vagabond de la Pomme in seventh place.
