Zacharov wins VHO Trophy
In front of a very enthusiastic crowd, Zacharov TN won the VHO Trophy for jumpers last night. He was ridden by Zoï Snels. Emir R finished second, Edinburgh in third.
Zacharov, who is bred by M. Everse from Waddinxveen and W. ten Pas from Luttenberg, went through the course like a knife. Co-owner Henk Nijhof is obviously very content with de Clinton-son. “Zoï was in doubt if he should ride him here. He was injured for quite a while and was not started a lot as preperation for this competition. But Zacharov is always quick and careful, so I had full confidence. That he wins here is really nice, Zoï rode strong and Zacharov was really ready for it.” Out of the seven combinations in the jump-off, Zacharov and Zoi Snels were the last to go in. Their clear round in 29.38s was good enough to take the win. Emir R, ridden by Michael Greeve, who won the six bar at Amsterdam last week, jumped a really nice round and in the jump-off he also proved to be really quick. The son of Colman went round in 29.99 seconds, good for second place. The third place was for Edinburgh with Kristian Houwen. Also clear in the jump-off but not terribly quick was Etoulon VDL with Jur Vrieling. For Zapatero VDL it was the last time that he jumped in a competittion. After a beautiful first round, unfortunately he did not get the wished for farewell in the jump-off. But still, a nice last performance for the VDL Stud stallion and his rider James Billington.
