After two impressive wins at Jumping Amsterdam the KWPN Stallion Expression could win again in the VHO Trophy. In the kür to music at small Tour level, the breeding product of Gert-Willem van Norel, the breeder of no less then three of the stallions in this class, could convince both the puclic as the judges and got an almost 80% score.

Sire Vivaldi did well, because also the gorgeous Desperado showed an expressive freestyle. The crowd knew without a doubt, the well moving Expression was the undoubted winner. The stallion did honor to his name with his expression and power and won the VHO trophy. A lovely uphill posture, beautiful in the contact, and enormous power in the trot and canter extensions brought the stallion the orange ribbon. According to Diederik van Silfhout, the son of Vivaldi (out of Melody keur pref sport-dres) was a bit distracted. The changes serie did not work out completely, the rest was a true ‘supertest’. The rider praises the qualities of the stallion that he has produced since a very young age. “he is such a nice stallion with a super attitude. He’s got qualities in all movements in the test.”

This month Expression will try to win the KNHS indoor championship. After that the bay can slowly grow to the highest level. Highlights “A test with highlights, but certainly also lesser points”, judged Karin retera after the test of Emmelie Scholtens and Desperado (Vivaldi out of Sarita elite pref prest D-OC, breeder Andeweg Family from Randwijk). The black stallion showed a really impressive trot sequence, beautiful in the contact and with lots of suspension. “Very striking with beautifully ridden side-gaits.” Difficult Freestyle Houston-son Valdez (out of Oase keur by Jazz, breeder A.B. van der Wal from Boijl) has been performing at this level with ingrid gerritsen fors ome time now. Nationally, the combination managed to win several times. “Ingrid rode a difficult freestyle”, Retera started. “It was build up originally and well distributed over the arena. The test was ridden with a lot of impulsion. In general Valdez could carry a bit more, with a bit more lenght in front and the longitudinal bend in de side-gaits is something to watch." The other two stallions in the class were Charmingmood and Uphill, the only stallion that competed at Grand Prix Level.
