This morning the stallion competition for Gelder horses took place. Henkie ruled the competition and managed to win this leg again. Judge Arie Hamoen was very pleased with the performance of the son of Alexandro P who was awarded the keur predicate earlier this morning.

“Henkie is a very correct horse with lots of expression. The walk is clear and shows good groundcover and looseness. Therefore we give him a 9. In trot he has lots of elasticity and rythm, also a 9. The same mark he got for functionality and correctness.” With a score of 86 points Henkie won both the day competition and the overall titel, earning a big applause from his fans during the prize ceremony.

Edmundo two

Henkie might have been one size too big for the number two, Edmundo, but the palomino stallion did a nice test at Z level. He was presented by Sabrina Melotti. Arie commented: “Edmundo showed a nice extended trot, with good rythm. We gave him an 8. He trots in a sufficient manner, but we would like to see a bit more self-carriage, a7.5. Edmundo was obviously impressed in this big hall. That showed especially in canter. He was a bit too quick and that reflected in the score, a 7. For functionality and correctness, we gave a 7,5.” In the prize giving, Edmundo obviously had gotten used to his surroundings and showed himself much better!
