Apart (s.Larino) superb winner of GP Bordeaux
The Larino-son Apart could win his first 5* Grand Prix at Bordeaux. You could see it coming since Pieter Devos was constantly performing well with the breeding product of Stal Hendrix. The KWPN-recognized stallion Chaman was in third.
It was a year ago that Pieter Devos took over the ride of the Larino-son Apart from his wife Caroline Poels-Devos. She rode him to eight place at the Dutch national Championships in 2015. Paul Hendrix is the breeder of the fanatic chestnut gelding, his dam is the stb-ext prestatiemare Petroesca (s.Burggraaf). Already at a young age, he brought the gelding to the stables of Caroline and her father René Poels. “Apart always gave me the feeling that he could do the work. That’s why we became part owner in him. I have ridden some nice shows with him, but with only one horse at that level, you are not standing strong as a rider. That’s why I decied to give the ride to Pieter. With him he will be able to show his full potential”, said Caroline Poels a few months ago. Under Pieter Devos, Apart won the two star Grands Prix of Gent and Lanaken. To gain experience, Pieter took him to 5* competitions several times, this was their first win at that level. Chaman third In Bordeaux seven combinations made the jump-off. Among them big names like Steve Guerdat, Ludger Beerbaum and Bertram Allen. But depite the fact that Apart is not very experienced at this level, he was good for the best result, good for 38.000 euro. “Apart felt super! It is a horse with a very strong personality and lots of character. He really fights for me and I hope I can be riding the Global Champions Tour and Nations Cup shows this coming season. I think he is ready, I am really happy with such a horse”, said the reigning champion. Ludger Beerbaum did also well with the 18-year-old Chaman (Baloubet du Rouet out of Jadied stb by I Love You, breeder Boa Agriculture from Enschede). He took third place.
