After Todd Minikus won two 1.45m-classes with the Landor S-son Zephyr last month, this week he hit the jackpot again at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington. In both the 1.45m and the 1.50m, the pair was invincible.

Zephyr is owned by Ronnie Beard. He bought him five years ago from Peter Charles after he was proclaimed the best seven-year-old in Spain. Several riders did well with him. Both Michael Dorman and Matt Williams won prizes at 1.50m-level with him. Now it is Todd Minikus´ turn. Striking results The end of January, Todd already booked two wins at 1.45m level with Zephyr (Landor S out of Tobelia elite sport-spr prest by Calvados) who is bred by KWPN-inspector Bart Henstra and his father. Last Friday they could add another win at this level, and two days later Minikus took the win at 1.50m. “Zephyr seems to be adjusting to my riding more and more. He has become more flexible in his body which leads to good results. A horse that pulls to the fences is always quicker than one that you have to ride to them. That sort of horses suits me well. Despite the fact that I only rode him a short time, he understands my way of riding quite well already. Or maybe I understand his ways better. It doesn’t make a difference, it just works between us!” Brighton/Beegien third in 1.50m In the Suncast Classic (1.50m), ridden on Sunday, Tiffany Foster rode a double clear with Brighton (former name Beegien SFN, Contendro II out of Van Ed keur IBOP-spr sport-spr by Quick Star, breeder Ed Santing from Wapenveld) and got third. On Thursday another 1.50m was ridden In Wellington. There, Alberto Michan and GC Chopin’s Bushi (Contendro II out of Ushi stb by Nairobi, breeders Van der Steen Brothers from Esch) finished fourth, just in front of Ben Maher with the full brother of KWPN-approved stallion Baltic VDL: G&C Don Vito (Quaprice Z out of Nellandra ster pref prest by Jus de Pomme, breeder Engbert van Ittersum from Giethoorn).
