Last weekend, Hans Peter Minderhoud was the first rider to defeat the Queen of the World Cup Isabell Werth with an excellent ride. The reigning champion is ready to defend his title in Omaha! Third place went to German rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl that did not ride her team horse Unee BB (s.Gribaldi) this time, but her ‘second’ horse Zaïre-E (Son de Niro out of Tara elite pref by Jazz). They had a score of 80,26%.

Best feeling
“This was my best Freestyle ever”, Jessica tells afterwards. “I did not get the highest marks ever, but I certainly had the best ever feeling. Zaïre-E has loads of quality in movement and the music reflects the transisitons from piaffe to passage really well. Highlights were the collected movements like the canter pirouettes, the extended canter, and the last line with Piaffe and Passage. Really, my whole freestyle has a high difficulty.”

Worthy successor
Von Bredow-Werndl sees the breeding product of Empelaer Stud from Lage Mierde as a worthy successor to Unee BB. “She is getting more and more relaxed at shows, and is able now to show her full potential.” With both horses, the rider is qualified for the World Cup in Omaha, but she will not travel to the United States with ballerina Zaïre-E, but with er eye catcher Unee BB. “He is an easy traveler and has flown before. But I will keep on preparing both horses before we go,” says the elegant rider who is expecting her first child later this year.

Voice fourth
The fourth place was for the KWPN-stallion Glock’s Voice (s.De Niro) who was ridden by Edward Gal to a score of 78,52%. that result was enough for Gal to qualify. Madeleine Witte-Vrees rode her first international show with the KWPN-stallion Wynton (s.Jazz) after a long break due to an injury. After a really good Grand Prix, the kür went a little less and they finished eight with 76,42%.
