This week, eleven dressage stallions and 23 jumper stallions started their performance test ath the KWPN-Center in Ermelo. 

Thirteen dressage stallions were presented by their regular riders. With two stallions in the arena, they were shown to the committees to assess their trainability and get a first impression of their basic gaits. After that, the veterinary surgeon checked their health. Stallion cat.nr. 42 (HK ’17 340) Bordeaux x Painted Black was redirected to the fall test. The Uthopia-son with cat.nr. 52 (HK ’17 562) ds.UB 40, got a veterinary remark. He can start the test 7 days later. The Chair of the Stallion Selection Committee dressage, Bert Rutten, is positive about the eleven stallions that have taken a stall at the KWPN Centre. “We have seen a few really nice stallions, and obviously also a few that have to improve. But overall, we saw stallions that showed nice rideability for their age and we start with a positive feeling.”

Jumpers
23 jumper stallions passed this first inspection and could start the test. Due to a veterinary remark, Cat.nr. 13 (Flying Dream x Indorado) is redirected to the fall test. Stallion Committee chair Cor Loeffen: “A promising collection young stallions, that in general could be ridden quite nicely. They were fresh, in a good way. This gives confidence for the rest of the performance test.”
Under the jumper stallions is the Top 4 of the Championship in Den Bosch. Champion was Kannan-son cat.nr. 17/185 Juventus V G (ds.Indoctro), second was cat.nr. 12/147 Jonkheer de Span, from the first crop of Farfan M (ds.Calvin Z), third cat.nr. 27/574 (Zapatero VDL x Mermus R) and fourth cat.nr. 20/218 (Padock du Plessis x Vainqueur). All four of them are now housing a stall in Ermelo.

50-day test
Another five four-year-old dressage stallions and seven four-year-old jumper stallions  were presented for the saddle presentation in preparation of their 50 days test. On Tuesday March 28th, the jumper stallions will be presented for the last time, before they can start the performance test. Wednesday March 29th  it is time for the dressage stallions.
