The KWPN-stallion Hummer is back in his home-country Russia. Last week, the son of Westpoint competed at a young horse competition where his rider Evgeni Sharangovich tried to get him qualified for the World Championships for young dressage horses in Ermelo. He won.

Nataliya Bronnikova, stable manager at Kartsevo Stud, said that Hummer did two good tests ridden by their resident-rider. “The stallion has done really well over the two days. The first day he was rewarded with an 81,2% with good marks for his canter and his talent as a dressage horse. The second day, Hummer was a bit tense in his walk, which had effect on the score. But still the 77,60% was enough to win the competition. The judge said he was very well ridden and has a lot of talent for dressage. “

Qualifiers

Last winter, Kirsten Brouwer presented the stallion, who is bred by B.P. Hartman-Van Tilborgh from  Sprang-Capelle, in the KWPN Stallion Competition. The Westpoint-son (out of Winde ster by Farrington) finished in sixth place in the final standings. “After the Stallion Show, we took him home to Moskou. By competing in the Netherlands he met the requirements to stay approved. Now we try to get him qualified for Ermelo through the Russian system. These qualifiers are all in Moskou.”

Good character

Bronnikova says that Hummers Character is his strongest quality. “He never says no! He always tries to do it for the rider. Besides that he’s got three good gaits. Especially his walk and canter are particularly good. We have tried a little piaffe, and I think we’ve got to do with a future Grand Prix horse.”
