The only eight-year-old KWPN horse Eckhart had all eyes on him when he jumped to seventh place in the 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier in Eschweiler Germany. Ridden by German rider Jörg Oppermann he jumped amazingly. Winner of this Grand Prix qualification was the young rider Bertram Allen.

Eckhart (Casiro I out of Ulla vb prest by Quick Star) was born in 2009 in the renowned breeding stables of Anna and Wilma Wolters and Rik Ongering from Groningen. His sire is the Holstein stallion Casiro I (s. Cassini I). Eckharts dam Ulla is no less than the full sister of the KWPN stallion Vleut, half-sister of former KWPN stallion grading champion and approved stallion Genius and with that also the granddaughter of the world famous mare Audi’s Jikke.

The class was ridden over two rounds. both rounds, Jörg Oppermann and Eckhart stayed clear in the 1.50m course. Their time was set on 28,80 seconds – about three second slower than the actual winner, Bertram Allen with Casper GK, who not only won this class but also the second qualifier and the Grand Prix. For Eckhart this was only his second outing at this level.
