Ermelo YH: Fiontini World Champion again, First Apple fourth
Fifteen horses came in the main arena this afternoon for the final of the World Championships for seven year-old dressage horses. Five of them were KWPN’s. Fiontini and Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez took the title again. The silver medal was for Kirsten Brouwer with the dancing Sultan des Paluds.
For Patrick van de Meer and President’s First Apple the final was somewhat disappointing. Being the eleventh starter, he managed to get the highest score up till then. But with only four more horses to come, he dropped a place almost every ride. In the end he finished fourth on a total score of 80.683. Still a lovely achievement in this very strong field. For both the canter as the trot, he got an 8,8. For perspective even a 9. The judges were very complimentary about the chestnut son of Vivaldi. They finished off by saying: “We think this horse has lots of perspective. There is a great future lying ahead for this super horse.” President's First Apple is bred by N. van Maaswaal in ’t Goy and is out of GP horse Oogappel (v.TCN Partout).
Fleau de Baian
The full brother to Parzival, Fleau de Baian (Jazz out of Fidora ster pref prest by Ulft, breeder Beijer femily from Puiflijk) was well presented by Adelinde Cornelissen. The judges said about the strongly moving chestnut stallion: “A very beautiful, elegant and well-presented horse. He received 77.76 and finished in seventh place.
Fantastique also got into the top-10. A very good result if you realize this was only the third competition for the Vivaldi-daughter. Fantastique is born out of Bonbon by Florencio and bred by Patty van Zwang from Dordrecht. She was presented by Lynne Maas. The judges said: ”Today, we saw a mare with tremendous power and a really active hind leg. She showed lots of groundcover in movement." The final score was 76.437.
Kirsten Brouwer also rode the KWPN stallion Ferdeaux. He got 76.350. The Ampère-daughter Farzana was the first one to go in, her score came to 75.933.
