In the final of the six-year-old horses at the World Championships for young dressage horses in Ermelo it was the KWPN stallion Governor-Str who took the silver medal. Lordswood Dancing Diamond was World Champion. Gunner KS took seventh.

The KWPN-stallion Governor-Str (Totilas out of Orleans elite pref prest by Jazz, breeder J. Streppel from Wilp), the third horse that made it to the finals ridden by Adelinde Cornelissen, did a great, very concentrated test. Almost without any mistakes, the black stallion did his work, with a lot of expression, always on the hind leg and with beautiful contact on the bit. Judge Andrew Gardner was the judges spokesman: “A very elegant horse that was very fluent in trot, 9,3. The walk has good quality shows the possibilities to collect, 8,8. The canter has a natural way of going, nicely uphill and with obvious talent for the medium, a 9." The test got an 8,9 for submission, and because of his natural ability to collect, an 9,3 for perspective. Adelinde responded. "I had a really nice test in the qualification but I thought ‘if I really want to get somwhere, I should give some gas’. So I did! Governor is always so cooperative; he has a great show mentality.”

Gold and bronze
With a total result of 9,06 the stallion took over the lead. For a long time until Dancier-son Lordswood Dancing Diamond did an amazing test which was rewarded with 10’s for the trot and perspective and a super 9,8 for submission. His final score was 9,72 points.
Who was in the bronze position was unclear for a while. The Oldenburg bred Skyfall was on 8,5 when Severo Jurado Lopez entered the arena with Quel Filou. He made a mistake and therefore points were deducted. Later on it was clear that it was calculated wrongly and he should get the bronze medal. Very disappointing for Frederic Wandres who had already had the bronze medal around his neck because the prize giving had already taken place. Quel Filou’s score was 8.99.

Gunner KS
The competition started with Gunner KS. The KWPN-stallion was very concentrated this time. Dana van Lierop could really show the full potential of the Bellissimo M-son (out of Ronnevanck ster pref prest sport-dres by Vincent, breeder A. Kleijwegt from Heinkenszand) The trotwork was strong, maybe he could show a bit more power in the mediums, but he was nicely uphill and also the canter of the stallion made a huge impression. Gardner: “The trot is regular, nicely uphill and elastic, an 8,3. The walk is clear, and really through the body, an 8,7. The canter showed lots of balance, uphill tendency and is a clear 3-beat, a 9.” With 8,5 for submission, and an 8,8 for potential, the total score came to 8.64. Good for seventh.

Great Lady TC
Great Lady TC (Bretton Woods out of Tiffany’s Monday stb pref v.Osmium) who was bred by Tim Coomans from Oud-Beijerland and ridden by Jeanine Nieuwenhuis, could not show the level that she had in the small final. The judges commented: "Really a Great Lady when she enters the arena. The trot is active with natural cadence. Unfortunately she is not always as light as we would like, an 8,8. The walk has a lot of quality, 8,2. In canter she makes herself quite strong which sometimes reflects on the clear 3-beat. That’s why we gave her a 7,8." Because of the small mistakes and the contact the mare was rewarded a 7 for submission. And with an 8 for perspective the score was 8,0.

Gerion
The Australian rider Briana Burgess was the first last to go in. With the Jazz-soon Gerion (out of Aimée de Jeu by Don Primero, breeder C.J. Reemst from Sleeuwijk) that was placed fourth after the qualifier, she could again ride a good test. But it did not have the expression and pzazz of the first day. The judges liked what they saw: “The horse showed a nice test and was really concentrated. The trot is fluent and active. In collection he could keep the cadence a bit better, an 8,5. The walk is correct in the rhythm, with a good use of the hind leg. The canter is active with good contact to the bit, an 8,5.” For submission he got an 8,7 and for perspective an 8,5. That made a total of 8,44, good for ninth place.
