The final of the three-year-old mares formed a magnificent conclusion to an equally beautiful day at the KWPN Championships. No less than 14 dressage mares and 12 jumper-bred mares were invited to the championships round to compete for the title National Mare Champion in their respective breeding direction.

The exceptional mover Jatilinda (All At Once out of Atilinda keur IBOP-dres sport-dres pref by Negro) owned and bred by Stal 104 in Wijdewormer was crowned the champion of the dressage mares. President of the judges Marian Dorresteijn: “We let the dressage mares trot an extra round and each and every time Jatilinda impressed us. She already passed her IBOP with 87 points and moves with electricity, technique and posture. Despite the heavy competition she is the ultimate champion in our eyes!” Another talent was placed second: Junette RS2 (De Niro out of Unette II keur pref by Gribaldi, bred by René Franssen from Boven-Leeuwen) owned by RS2 Dressage Center de Horst in Groesbeek. “This mare features a good rectangular model, moves with great hind leg use and has a beautiful frame.”

Joliciapina (s.Carambole) winner Jumper mares
Her athletic model, expression and great performance in the free jumping competition earned Joliciapina (Carambole out of Feliciapina ster by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, bred by Truus Bos-Evenhuis, José Bos and Francine Bos) owned by Nienke Post the championships title. Cor Loeffen could not hide his enthusiasm: “In all aspects this daughter of Carambole left a positive impression. She has a strong model with lots of expression, a good canter with a lot of balance and she jumpes with good reflexes, technique and athletic ability. Joliciapina defeated the athletic and youthful Jauanda T (Don Diablo HX out of Auanda by Quintero, bred by Nico van Tilburg from Schaijk) of Stal Hendrix. “This sharp mare excelled in her freejumping through her athletic ability, a crucial characteristic of the modern jumper.” The third prize was claimed by the previous national foal champion: the Etoulon VDL-daugther Javanille VDL (out of Vanille de Montsec ster by Chin Chin) of breeders VDL Stud in Bears. This mare also combines a beautifull conformation with excellent jumping qualities. The chestnut mare displayed lots of reflexes and technique in her free jumping.
