Tim Price and Cekatinka (s.King Kolibri) took the win at the prestigious CCIO3* Military Boekelo. Tim Lips and Bayro were the runners-up and secured the Dutch Championship. Sanne de Jong rode her home-bred Enjoy (s.Cartano) to the bronze medal in this Championship.

Tim Lips made a flying start with his Olympic mount Bayro by riding a wonderful dressage test. With a score of 73,91% he could start in the cross-country in second position. Despite a faultless cross-country in a fast time, Tim Price from New-Sealand managed to get in front of him as well as the French rider Alexis Goury. In the jumping course, he did not give that away. He stayed clear in a convincing way and put Military Boekelo 2017 into his name. He rode Cekatinka, a breeding product of Jan Greve. The ten year-old daughter of King Kolibri comes out of the ster prestatie mare Katinka, in her turn a daughter of Julio Mariner xx.
From day 1, Tim Lips was in the lead for the Dutch Championship. He could even drop a pole in the final jumping course, but Bayro proved to be in top-form again and stayed clear. The son of Casantos is bred by H.W.J. van den Bosch from Best out of the Corland-daughter Vanya.

Bronze for Sanne de Jong & Enjoy

Sanne de Jong was able to get hold of a very good bronze medal in the Dutch Championship, behind the other Olympic combination, Alice Naber–Lozeman with ACSI Peter Parker. The only eight-year-old Enjoy (Cartano out of Next Joey stb by Haarlem, breeders J.J. Koldewijn from  Heteren and Sanne’s parents Jantien van Zon and Marco de Jong from Aalsmeer) won the Dutch Championship for young event horses as a five-year-old, was fourth at the World Championships for young event horses in Lion d’Angèrs as a six-year-old and also competed at this championship as a seven-year-old. Now, at the age of only eight, the grey mare showed her progress in her first 3* event.  Sanne de Jong responds: “It was an absolute super competition. I am very pleased with how it went and of course with Enjoy. I am absolutely over the moon with the result, I consider the bronze medal as a bonus. My dressage was OK, and in the cross country she tried her heart out. For the both of us, it was the most difficult course we have ever done, but she was really working with me. We had one mistake in the jumping course, but she went well so I can only be satisfied with that. Enjoy will now get some time off in the winter period. For next year, we will see how it goes.“
Nice detail is that Enjoy is bred by Sanne’s family and she has more future prospects from this dam-line. “I have a half-brother of Enjoy, he is a year younger. This is an incredibly large horse, so he needs some more time. But he is a nice chap which gives me lots of joy. We also breed with an older half-sister of Enjoy. Hopefully I will have some nice nieces or nephews from her under saddle in the future.“
