12 four-year-olds double clear in Blom Stallion Competition
All horses that had a double clear in the first round of the Blom stallion competition in the L class, shared first place. Among them I Am Codex (s.Codex One) ridden by Bart Lips, who received the highest marks in the Stallion Performance Test of last spring.
Out of the 34 contestants, twelve horses jumped a double clear. Among them were seven KWPN approved stallions. The two most recent additions to the list of approved stallions, Cantona TN (Codex One out of Claudia Z by Caretano Z, breeder Martien van de Bruggen from Goirle) with Zoï Snels and It’s Otto (Etoulon VDL out of Uranda JB ster IBOP-spr pref by Coromino, breeder J.M. Breukink from Brummen) ridden by Willem Verdonk, both managed to stay clear.
Three times Van de Bruggen
Another striking performance was set by the KWPN-approved stallion I Am Codex (Codex One out of Capitola Z by Calvaro Z, breeder Martien van de Bruggen from Goirle) with Bart Lips. He showed his extra push, use of the body and athletic ability in both rounds. A beautiful success for breeder Van de Bruggen, who also had a third breeding product in this class, the Casall-son Casago II that he watched finishing with a clear round. “From the very first moment, I Am Codex has given me a tremendous feeling”, rider Bart Lips says. “And every jump he makes he confirms that feeing. He always jumps the same, with power and scope. And he has a super mind. He seldom makes a mistake; he really doesn’t want to touch the poles. We take it slow with him. A hors with such quality doesn’t have to jump 20 courses a year. With two clear rounds our mission for today was accomplished!”
