Monday the 4th of December the sixth and last regular day of the first-round viewing for jumper stallions took place. On the last day, 16 stallions were added to the collection of the second-round viewing. Including the extra day on December 11th, the total has come up to 100 stallions.

Various sires presented their first or second crop, that on average made a good impression. Amongst them were Glenfiddich VDL, F-One USA and Connect who all did remarkably well as three of their sons received an invite to the next round. Arezzo VDL got six offspring selected for the stallion show in Den Bosch coming in second after Cornet Obolensky: the top progenitor saw eight of his offspring go through to the second-round viewing.

Complete horses
The stallion selection committee is pleased with the overall collection so far. “In comparison with previous years, we may have even selected more complete horses now. Stallions that made a great impression in this first selection round via their conformation, pedigree and jumping performance. Especially in blood lines we see a clear progression; the horses feature more and more performance genes and that makes it increasingly interesting.” At the additional inspection day, an opportunity granted to stallions that could not attend one of the regular testing days for a valid reason, on December 11th, 8 jumper stallions were added to the collection for the second round viewing.
