A festive moment between the third-round viewing and championships finale. One by one, Baltic VDL, Berlin, Harley VDL and Tangelo van de Zuuhoeve made their appearance in the arena at the KWPN Stallion Show, all accompanied by their breeders and owners.

Every year, the predicate stallions are honoured but rarely so many at the same time. A lovely sight to watch these gentlemen in the arena all together. The oldest of the group, the white as snow Berlin, looked as fit as his younger colleagues. Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve also demonstrated to have a spring in his step. Berlin makes himself heard through his descendants. At the moment, the stallions stands at the 10th position at the WBFSH Sire Ranking on the merit of his immense number of internationally jumping offspring. In addition, Berlin saw four of his sons getting approved at the KWPN. Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve is also as sire that stands out positively through his children. This year, the third son was approved at KWPN, the recognized stallion Darry Lou. Last year, this 10-year-old chestnut proved to be one to watch with Beezie Madden. The impressive Harley VDL saw no less than three sons being approved for KWPN breeding in 2017: Jenssen VDL, Justice HL and Jubel ES. They also were the topscorers of the performance test. VDL Group Verdi TN was also awarded the predicate preferent, but was not present. Four of his sons are KWPN-approved and his oldest offspring perform successfully at the highest level.

The brand new preferent stallions were presented in hand and the now keur Baltic VDL entered the ring under his former rider James Billington. Recently, the stallion moved to the stables of Jur Vrieling, who made a successful international debut with him via a second place in the Grand Prix of Drachten. Baltic VDL will come back tonight in the battle for the VHO Trophy.
