Two years after Colonist-offspring Indiana, it is again a Harness stallion of breeder Wim Cazemier, named after an American state, that conquers the championship title. Eebert-offspring Kentucky, that is owned by Cazemier and former dressage breeder of the year Emmy de Jeu, heads a promising crop.

No less than four stallions, all a great match to each other, battled for the win in the championships round. The sash was hanged onto the neck of Kentucky (Eebert out of Gwendoline ster PROK s.Manno, bred by Wim Cazemier, Spencerville Indiana) that turned dressage breeder Emme de Jeu’s adventure to buy a harness stallion for a change, into a success. Chairman of the judges explained: “Both the champion and vice champion are alluring horses with extraordinary movements and lots of natural ‘go’. In such a case, it comes down to details and we decided to let the hind leg prevail. Therefore, we declare Kentucky to be the new champion!”

Kolonel (Fantijn out of Efira keur IBOP-tuig s.Vaandrager HBC, bred by W.L. Ruinemans from Rhenen) of Uilke Haarsma from Tjerkwerd. Place three was awarded to Kane-BFT (Bocellie out of Donna ster s.Unieko, bred by B.G. Franken from Elspeet). The fourth stallion in the quality championship round was the Atleet-son Kadanz (out of E Linda keur IBOP-tuig s.Manno, bred by J. Tienkamp from Peest) of P. Reitsma from Ureterp.

Seven harness horses were invited to the performance test, out of the seventeen stallions that were advanced to the second-round viewing. An overview can be found via the link below.
