Eebert to phenomenal hat trick in Oregon Trophy
For the third time in his career, Eebert won the Oregon Trophy and just like last year, in the hands of Robbie van Dijk. Earlier in 2015, the Atleet-offspring was also invincible in Den Bosch, at the time with Lambertus Huckriede.
For the fourth time in history, a harness horse performed a hat trick and Eeberts’ predecessors are quite the accomplished names. The by now preferent stallion Manno won the trophy three years in a row (1999-2001) with his owner Cees van der Maat. The likewise preferent stallion Patijn procured the competition even four times and from 2012 to 2014, today’s winner Robbie van Dijk steered Eebert’s stable mate Cizandro to the victory.
Today’s competition was one between six top stallions, yet it is known that in the right hands, Eebert is a tough act to follow. Making a successful debut, Indiana placed second with newcomer Klaas Buist, right before Mark de Groot and Dylano. Harry van der Middelaar also had his first Oregon-experience today and presented his Image HBC very well, resulting in the fourth place. The young stallion thereby bested his sire Ditisem, driven by Albert Lueks, that placed sixth. Between the sire and son, Henk Hammers claimed the fifth position with Heliotroop VDM.
