The KWPN stallion selection committee dressage has nominated the Danish bred Grand Prix-stallion Skovens Rafael  for recognition. The General Board has formalized this nomination.

Skovens Rafael is a son of Blue Hors Romanov that had an international dressage career at Grand Prix level under the name of Glock’s Romanov and was ridden by Hans Peter Minderhout. Skoven’s Rafael’s dam, Tazorba, is a daughter of the proven dressage horse stallion Don Schufro. The damline is further build up from a daughter of the Grand Prix-stallion Zorro Z, a Hannovarian bred son of the KWPN-recognized Grosso Z, followed by the mare Tarifa, a daughter of again a top sire in dressage horse breeding, May Sherif. Skovens Rafael is bred by Jens Lund Pedersen and Kirsten Hansen from Lunderskov. The stallion is approved with the Danish Studbook and is ridden at Grand Prix with his owner Lotte Skjaerbaek. In the Breeding Value rankings in Denmark, Skovens Rafael is in second place.

His genomic value is 100 with 34% reliability. Skovens Rafael meets the radiographic requirements of the KWPN. The dark chestnut stallion is 14 years old and has a height of 1.68m. Semen is available through Triple V breeding services: +31 6 20983366, info@triplev.nl.
