On August 2nd, the Longines FEI / WBFSH World Championships for Young Dressage Horses starts in Ermelo. For four days the National Equestrian Center is the stage for the world's best Young dressage horses. A fierce battle for the highest honor will take place in the five-, six- and seven-year-old classes. The young talents who may represent the Dutch tricolor in August were announced last week.

In the five-year-old class, we see no less than four KWPN-approved stallions in the selection. The influential Vivaldi is on the papers of several horses. Bart Veeze has no less than two trump cards with the stallion competition winner Imposantos and the Dream Boy-daughter Imagine. Emmelie Scholtens will come to Ermelo with Indian Rock, a son of her top stallion Apache. Renate van Vliet and Joyce Lenaerts also managed to get selected with the KWPN stallions In Style and Iconic B. This also applies to Juliane Bronkhurst and the chestnut stallion Ibiza (s.Desperado).Six-year-olds

The approved Gelder stallion Henkie, who finished sixth last year in the finals of the five-year-olds, will have the opportunity to improve that result this year with Adelinde Cornelissen. Dinja van Liere also received a ticket with an approved stallion, namely Hermès. Emmelie Scholtens is also present in this age category with an Apache descendant, Hero and Apache is also represented by his son Hot Chocolate ridden by Esmee Gijtenbeek. Local rider Diederik van Silfhout will travel to Ermelo with Habana Libre A (s.Zizi Top) and Mara de Vries will come at the start with Habibi DVB (s.Don Schufro).

Seven-year-olds

Ridden by Adelinde Cornelissen the eye-catching stallion Governor won the silver medal of the six-year-olds last year. They get the chance to secure a medal again. Besides that, Cornelissen may compete with another offspring from this mare line: Goodman RWP (by Jazz). Franka Loos rides the second KWPN approved stallion in this category, as Equilence's Giovanni has also received a ticket. Thalia Rockx and her Golden Dancer de La Fazenda (s.Bretton Woods), Joyce Heutink and Gaudi Vita (s.Apache) and Lotje Schoots with the second Jazz descendant Grace of Rose received an invitation as well.
