The second day of the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses continued with the qualification of the seven-year-olds. With Governor-STR, Glamourdale, Equilence’s Giovanni and Gotilas du Feuillard , Lord Leatherdale and Totilas set the tone in the final, in which at least five KWPN-horses may compete.

The immensely cantering Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale out of Thuja pref by Negro, bred by J.W. Rodenburg of Ouderkerk aan de IJssel) noted two tens. The entirely deserved 10 for canter came to no one’s surprise. Glamourdale has by far the best canter of the field. In the collected, extended and in the changes: Glamourdale shows immense impulsion. The trot approaches perfection (9.8). The only point of critiscism: the 7.5 for the walk. Charlotte Fry presented the stallion excellently, which resulted in a 9.6 for submission. A 10 for perspective as a dressage horse, put the stallion at the third position with 85.07%.

Governor-STR

Bursting talent combined with a decent education and a solid test: Governor-STR (Totilas out of Orleans elite pref prest PROK by Jazz). The stallion bred by family Streppel of Wilp received the following marks: trot 9.2, walk 9, canter 9.4, submission 8.5, perspective 9.5. The end score of 83.25% meant a fourth position for Governor-STR.

Talented Giovanni

His impressive canter led to a score of 81.62% for Equilence’s Giovanni (Chippendale out of Zarava elite pref IBOP-dr sport-dr PROK by Scandic, bred by C. van Etten of Galder). The canter gave a mighty frame: a 9.6. The trot 9.4, walk 7.8, submission 8.6 and a 9.3 for the perspective as dressagehorse, brings the stallion to a fifh intermediate position. A great WC-debut for Franka Loos and her powerhouse.

A true Totilas

Gotilas due Feuillard (Totilas out of Vital Hits S. ster PROK by Ferro) represented the French flag as he easily moved through the test under Corentin Pottier. A true Totilas: not enormously big moves, but always obedient, with a quiet contact and beautiful rhythm. His submission yielded a 9. The horse bred by Unlimited Stables in Lunteren walked for an 8.5, the trot and canter received an 8.2. The 8.8 as a dressage horse brought the average to 85.4%. The technical aspect received 68.83, so that the total was 77.12% and a seventh position.

Gaudi Vita and Goodman RWP

Gauda Vita (Apache out of Vita elite pref prest IBOP-dres PROK by Welt Hit II, bred by H.W. Broos of Annen) and Goodman RWP (Jazz out of Vidora by Lancet, bred by I. van der Spek of Hemrik) had similar report cards. Both horses have to give in on their walk (6.8) but possess a strong canter (8.0) and score around an 8 for the trot, although the technical part of the test of Gauda Vita was rewarded a higher score. It is visible that the black Gauda Vita, under Joyce Heuitink, has more in experience in the competitions than the relatively unexperience Goodman RWP of Adelinde Cornelissen. With 75.31% Gauda Vita (11th) obtained a ticket to the final, while Goodman RWP was 14thwith 74.53% and can try again in the small final.

Golden Dancer de la Fazenda

Just back from the Youth European Championships, Golden Dancer de la Fazenda (Bretton Woods out of Sanne M PROK by Florestan I, bred by Stoeterij het Maalwater in Oude Niedorp) moved to 73.27%. Eventually an 18thposition for the young Thalia Rockx that already shows a lot of routine in the way she performs her tests.

Grace of Rose

A few minutes after nine, Lotje Schoots entered the arena with her elite mare Grace of Rose (Jazz out of C’est Une Rose ster PROK by Krack C, bred by Jacatra BV in Zuidoostbeemster). With a 7.8 for trot, a 7.3 for the walk, a 7.9 for the canter and two eights for submission and perspective, the chestnut mare obtained 78% for her quality. The technical part was valued at 67.14% and its resulting total of 72.57% gave a 24thposition.

Kartsevo Goldfinch

The by the Russian Evgeny Sharangovich presented Kartsevo Goldfinch (Jazz out of Claire L elite IBOP-dres PROK by Lingh, bred by J. Lamers and M.A. van der Goor) scored approximately sevens for his basis gaits, giving a percentage of 71%. Technically the test received 68%, which led to an average of 69.56% and a 34thplace for the appointed stallion.
