The foal auction Midden-Nederland, also known as Dutch Top Foals auction, has selected another top collection for their 16th edition on Wednesday September 5th. Amongst the foals are the National Foal Championships dressage champion Nina Ricci (s.Franklin), Nyandro JZ (s.Geniaal) who obtained the bronze and the vice-champion of the jumper foals Newsflash (s.Hardwell). 

After a sold-out 2017 edition, the organization of the Midden-Nederland auction aimed to set the bar even higher in 2018. And not without success! At the National Foal Championships in Ermelo, two dressage foals of the auction collection made it into the top 3: Nyandro JZ (s.Geniaal out of Elsarina prok elite EPTM-dres s.Jazz) and Nina Ricci (s.Franklin out of Felice keur IBOP-dres s.Uphill). It was eventually the dark filly Nina Ricci that deservedly received the championships ribbon. Browse the full dressage collection here.

Ermelo YH 
This month there were also former Dutch Top Foals that entered the arena in Ermelo: at the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses the previous top seller Ibiza (s.Desperado) won the small final for 5-year-olds with Juliane Brunkhorst and in the final they achieved the best KWPN-result: fifth place. The seven-year-old Gotilas du Feuillard (s.Totilas) represented the French flag with Corentin Pottier and earned a direct ticket to the final by scoring close to 78%. Farzana G (s.Ampère), last year a finalist in the 7-year-old class, competed in the CDI1* class this edition, where she procured the second prize with Mara de Vries. 

Vice-champion National Foal Championships
At the National Foal Championships for jumper foals it was Newsflash (s.Hardwell out of Dolaris ster IBOP-spr s.Cantos) that could defend the auction’s honour in the championships round. The appealing colt out of the lineage of 1.60m showjumpers Caramelo C, Olona, Platini and Captain, was eventually elected vice-champion. Selection committee members Wout Jan van der Schans and Dirk Reijne are pleased with the jumper collection of 2018: “We were able to select athletic foals, with a beautiful pedigree and lots of sport in the dam line. We have a lot of confidence in these foals.” Featuring offspring of sires such as Cornet Obolensky, Eldorado van de Zeshoek, Maestro van de Bisschop, Emerald, Diamant de Semilly, Aganix du Seigneur, Balou du Rouet Z, Van Gogh, Quabri de l’Isle, Halifax van het Kluizenbos and Untouchable there is certainly no shortage in interesting blood.
