Dutch bred horses are doing well in Tryon, also in jumping the KWPN was the main supplier of horses in the final. H&M Christian K and Eddie Blue played an instrumental role in the team medals and Admara placed fifth individually.

Through a clear jump-off Peder Fredicson and H&M Christian K (Namelus R out of Sirnanda stb prest by Calvados, bred by G.W. Klerks of Elshout) recovered from their somewhat disappointing ride in the third round and contributed to a silver medal for Sweden. The American Devin Ryan and Eddie Blue (stb.name Ed Hardy, Zirocco Blue VDL out of Silvana keur prest by Marlon, bred by J. Honcoop of Chaam) also crossed the finish line with 0 penalties, necessary to secure the gold.

5th place for Admara

Carlos Enrique Lopez and the Padinus-offspring Admara succeeded in what -amongst others- the two Dutch riders could not do: two superb clear rounds and a big jump upward in the rankings. Being the first rider to start, Carlos Enrique Lopez and Admara (Padinus out of Somara ster prest by Murano, bred by André van Nuland of Nistelrode) grabbed their chance to climb up in the rankings as they performed a superb clear round. Also in the second part the Padinus-son stayed far from the poles and they finished with only a time penalty. Their total of 12.81 penalties resulted in a 5thplace overall. The gold went to the German revelation Simone Blum and DSP Alice (s.Askari), the silver to Martin Fuchs and Clooney (s.Cornet Obolensky) and the bronze to another Swiss Steve Guerdat and Bianca (s.Balou du Rouet).
