Iron Spring Farm’s Sir Sinclair was the 2018 United States Equestrian Federation number 1 Sire of Dressage Horses for a fourth consecutive year. Offspring of Sir Sinclair earned 10,681 points in dressage competitions throughout the year, more than 4,000 points ahead of the second place stallion, Contango (v.Contender), also owned by Iron Spring. 

Achievements by the 19-year-old KWPN stallion Sir Sinclair (Lord Sinclair out of Krishna of Flemmingh) was made possible by 72 sons and daughters earning points, including 27 offspring competing at FEI, with four at Grand Prix.

Rounding out the year for the Spring stallions, UB40 (Olivi out of Kilucienne of Michelangelo), finished third. All three Iron Spring Farm’s stallions were also ranked in the Top 100 FEI dressage sires by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses.

Some highlights of Sir Sinclair’s offspring:

  • Dee Clair (Sir Sinclair out of On Pointe of Rolls Royce), 10-year-old mare, had six top-six finishes with rider Anna Marek in the CDI3* Grand Prix classes during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida, with scores as high as 70.50%.
  • Caymus(Sir Sinclair out of Wencenza of Contango), 11-year-old gelding and ridden by Jodie Kelly, was named to the 2018 Developing Horse List after placing third in the small tour division at the U.S. Festival of Champions.
  • Eschaton, nine-year-old gelding, won 15 3rd and 4th Level classes with scores as high as 74.744% cent in 2018. The gray also claimed two GAIG/USDF Regional Championships: 3rd Level Amateur and Adult Equitation with owner/rider Casey Blum as well as U.S. Dressage Federation 3rd Level Amateur Horse of the Year.
  • Imperial WRF had 18 wins at Training and 1st Level with owner/rider Alexandra du Celliee Muller, including the Region 4 Reserve Championship.

Contango (Concorde out of Pontaine of Hinault) and UB40’s offspring also had an extraordinary 2018. Contango finished the year ranked number 2 USEF Sire of Dressage Horses, with 41 offspring earning points, including seven at Grand Prix. Highlight included Alcazar, ridden by Katherine Bateson-Chandler. UB40’s sons and daughters won two championships at the U.S. Dressage Finals, plus four championships and eight reserve championships at Regional Championships.
