Less than a month to the Young Jumping Foal Sale!
The countdown has started; less than a month to go and then the second collection of the Young Jumping Foal Sale goes under the hammer. The provisional auction list is known and the photos and videos have been made.
Fifteen jumping foals are on the provisional auction list, including one from Kannan Jr., the champion of the KWPN Stallion Show last year. Kallmar VDL scored no less than 87.5 points in the performance test and signs for paternity twice. The 2017 champion, Jardonnay VDL, also has two foals on this provisional auction list.
The KWPN inspectors had already selected the foals at home, they have seen them again on the video-day and will check them again on the day of the auction. A veterinarian has also inspected the foals on de video-day and will do so again on auction day.
The Young Jumping Foal Sale is unique in its kind because of the criteria. Only foals from young KWPN jumping stallions are eligible and they must be from dams that jumped at 1.30m or higher, or are in the possession of the ‘prestatie’ predicate, which means that at least three of her offspring is performing far above average. The intention is to promote the use of young jumping stallions and to get them covering the better mares.
The auction takes place on Thursday, August 15, during the final day of the Blom Cup at the KWPN Championships. The final collection, with photos and video, will be available online on the auction website www.kwpn.auction on July 31st.
