At the end of November it is time for the KWPN stallion selection 2019/2020. From the 27th of November till the 10th of December the first round viewing will take place at the KWPN-center in Ermelo. The registering for this first viewing is now opened.

During the first viewing, young quality stallions come together at the KWPN-center where they will be inspected by the stallion selection committee. This committee consists out of three professionals in horse sports and breeding. At the first round viewing the best stallions will be referred to the second round viewing, which will take place during the KWPN Stallion Show from the 29th of Januari till the 1st of February in s’-Hertogenbosch.

Adjustments in stallion selection
In the coming stallion selection, there are some adjustments applied based on the advice of the Breeding Council of Riding and Gelder horses. One of the differences is that in the future, the third round viewing will not take place. For the dressage stallions lunging will be added and in s’-Hertogenbosch the Champion selection will not take place for the riding and Gelder horses. Instead, the best KWPN-registered stallions will be primed. This way the most complete stallions will be put in the spotlight and it can therefore be indicated which direction we want to go with breeding.

Registering
You can sign up your stallion via MyKWPN. Log in with your membership number and password and select the horse you want to register for the stallion selection. If you fill in the form you can also state whether you want to sign up your horse for the KWPN Select Sale. Once you click save, de registration is complete. The registering closes on Thursday the 7th of November.

KWPN Online Stallion Auction
In addition to the KWPN Select Sale, the KWPN also organizes the KWPN Online Stallion Auction since last year. This is an auction for first and second round viewing stallions, whom will be auctioned through the auction webstie kwpn.auction. The stallions will be published with extensive information including photos and videos made during the first round viewing.
