The approved KWPN stallion Five Star (Amazing Star out of U-Padoeska PB ster pref prest s.Jazz, breeders P.G. and A.S.M. Bijvelds of Erp) is continuing his series of victories in the United States. Last week, the 11-year old stallion won all three classes under his German rider Kevin Kohmann at the FEI CSI3*-competition at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida.

For the beautiful Freestyle, one judge rewarded the combination with more than 81% and two other judges gave Five Star and Kohmann almost 80%. Due to the 75% score of the fourth judge, the average score was not 80% but 78,420%, which is still an incredible score.

Rider Kevin Kohmann was very satisfied with the stallion's performance. “I wasn’t able to do the sound check for the Freestyle myself, and when the music started, it turned out that it was very loud. Most horses then build up tension, but with Five Star the opposite happened. He relaxed and tried even harder. He seemed to be really enjoying it,” said Kohmann. "He was fantastic."

After his silver medal at the FEI/WBFSH World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, the Netherlands, in 2016, there were many years of silence regarding Five Star. But those years seem to be over. Kevin Kohmann and Five Star currently are the ones to beat in the international Small Tour in the U.S.
