Harness stallion inspection on Saturday 8 May
On Saturday, April 3, the harness stallion inspection at the KWPN Centre was scheduled, which, due to the coronavirus, could only be followed online. However, given the developments around the rhinovirus, as a precaution it has been decided to postpone this. The Tuigpaard stallion inspection will now take place on Saturday, May 8.
The first and second viewing will take place on the same day. The stallions will first be judged on exterior and correctness and scored linearly. After all stallions have been assessed, their movements will be judged in the inspection arena. After the first viewing, consisting of a number of groups, it will be announced which stallions will proceed to the second viewing and may be declared Ster. After this, the second viewing takes place and the stallions that may participate in the performance test are selected (with conditions). The condition is a positive X-ray examination. Previously, this PROK certificate was required before participation in the second viewing.
Videos of last year's crop and of older stallions will be shown in advance. Last year, the National Harness Horse Day could not take place and therefore no Breeder of the Year and Horse of the Year were appointed. This will now happen on May 8. The show blocks around Breeder of the Year and Horse of the Year are recorded in advance. The show blocks with accompanying text and the studio talks in between the programme ensure that an interesting programme is offered on 8 May.
Due to the coronation regulations, the public is not allowed, but you can follow the entire programme via the livestream on KWPN.nl.
