The delivery and presentation under saddle of the stallions for participation in the performance test took place two days ago in Ermelo. The morning session started with the only Gelder stallion for the 35-day spring performance test.

Then the selection continued with the jumper stallions and the day ended with the dressage stallions. The Gelder stallion Newman is the three-year-old Escolar son Elton out of Beaujamanda, a pre-approved mare of Upperville x Zep. This mare previously produced the approved Alexandro P son Henkie. Like Henkie, Newman was bred by H.G. Hekkert of Wijhe and is registered to J.H.F.M. Grijzenhout of Muiderberg and S. Ruiters of Berlicum. The stallion was first assessed by the stallion selection committee under-saddle for his basic paces and his trainability. Also a few times a small jumps were made. The following veterinary examination resulted in no problems and the stallion was able to move into his stable at the KWPN Centre.

Four-Year-Old Stallions
Next Monday the delivery of two four-year-old Gelder stallions will take place. These stallions were selected last year for the performance test. Because of their age, four year olds stay in Ermelo for 28 days. It concerns the stallion McKenzy JHL (Alexandro P out of Happines elite IBOP prok by WV Saron, breeder L. Roerdink from Groenlo), who has been registered for the test under-saddle and the premium stallion Matiz (Eebert out of Honey ster PROK by Vitens, breeder G.H. Hofs from Varsseveld) who will be offered for the test in-harness.

Livestream during final exam
Due to the Corona measures, there is no audience allowed during the presentation and the under-saddle presentation. Last year, for this reason, the livestream of the final presentation was added to the broadcast schedule on KWPN.tv. Breeders can then see with their own eyes the performance of the stallions eligible for approval. A separate video per stallion will then be made of the stallions that are actually registered, showing the list of marks and a brief summary of their qualities. The delivery and intermediate presentations are not broadcasted. The final exam of the stallion performance test will be held on Friday, May 14.
