Every year on the National Harness Horse Day, the title of Horse of the Year is awarded to a harness horse that has excelled in breeding or in the sport. Last year there was no National Harness Horse Day so this title was awarded for the last time in 2019. That honorable title went to Emerson by Manno of Niek Alting. That was the 25th time this title was awarded.

The 26th title was awarded this year to Action Quality Amadeus from Leendert Veerman. The chestnut achieved this title based on his very special sport performance: he has 699 victory points. Action Quality Amadeus is the showpiece of Stal Veerman, owned by Leendert Veerman. The stately chestnut, always showing his best, won many championships in the single and multi-journey classes. He has also won the reserve title in the ladies' category several times. He competes at the top of his class every season and this year, he will once again show his fantastic trotting ability on the showgrounds, which he displays with a lot of suspension, spring and dance.

Special performance class

Henri Kruidhof from Rouveen bred the chestnut born on 23 April 2005 out of the ster mare Tamara, a daughter of Manno. Grandmother Mila is a ster preferent daughter of Cambridge Cole. Kruidhof sold Amadeus as a foal to Veerman, who bought him a top-class stallion of exceptional quality. Amadeus stayed with Veerman all his life and grew into to a harness horse of exceptional quality.

At the upcoming stallion show on May 8th, pictures of Action Quality Amadeus will be shown and Leendert Veerman will be in the studio. The Harnes Horse Stallion Show can be followed online at kwpn.tv.
