WFFS is a heridatary disease that causes foals to be born premature and/or born with abnormalities. From now on, testing for WFFS can now be requested for very easily in MyKWPN.

The most important abnormalities in cases of WFFS in new-born foals are skin defects like a too elastic skin that easily teares, wounds that suddenly appear and hyperextension of the joints. Usually, these foals are not viable. In the context of Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome, it is advisable to test broodmares so that you know whether your mare is a carrier.

Test
The costs for solely a WFFS- test is €47,80. It is possible to test multiple horses on one request. When combining it with a D-OC test for €163,50, testing on WFFS costs only €18,15. It is also possible to request one or both tests when registering your foal.
