During both the Blom Cup and the KWPN Championships, breeder premiums are handed to breeders of KWPN registered horses on behalf of the Friends of the KWPN. During the Blom Cup, the Friends of the KWPN award breeder premiums to the breeders of the best gelding, best mare and best stallion for every age category. Also, the best gelding, mare and stallion per age category in the Pavo Cup receives a breeder premium on behalf of the Friends of the KWPN.

On Friday August 13, during the National Mare and Foal Championships, the champion and the vice-champion in each breeding direction of the three-year-old mares and the foals receive a premium. The same applies during the National Harness Horse Day on Saturday August 14. On this day, the breeders of the 3-year-old mare and foal champions, as well as the breeders of the winners of the Renovo Cup and the Final of the Nationals are rewarded with a premium. 

Olympic Games

The Friends of the KWPN award breeder premiums to support the KWPN-breeders, both in sport and breeding achievements. For the past Olympic Games, several premiums were bestowed for KWPN-horses that obtained an individual medal. If the breeder is not present at the event, they receive the premium at a later time.
