The KWPN had two vacancies in the stallion selection committees following the resignation of the committee members Marian Dorresteijn (dressage) and Henk van de Broek (jumping), who where both not eligible for re-election. The KWPN is pleased that they have found two worthy successors in Wouter Plaizier and Eric van der Vleuten.

Based on the profile and shortlist of names drawn up by the Breeding Council Riding Horse, the Members’ Council has proposed Wouter Plaizier as member of the Stallion Selection Committee Dressage and Eric van der Vleuten as member of the Stallion Selection Jumping, both for a period of three years starting in November 2021. The Members’ Council has agreed on this.

Wouter Plaizier is the owner of Plaizier Forage in Heerjansdam and professional breeder of dressage horses. He bred, among others, the KWPN-stallion Dark Pleasure (Ufo x Jazz) and his KWPN-approved son It’s a Pleasure (ds.Blue Hors Zack). He also owns his own training stables. His practical experience in dressage breeding and scouting of talent and selecting young horses make him an excellent fit to the team with Bert Rutten and Johan Hamminga.

Eric van der Vleuten has an enormous list of credentials as international showjumper, he participated in various European and world championships. Moreover, he is the former chef d’equipe of Spain and Norway. At home, at Van der Vleuten Stables, the family is also active in breeding. One of the highlights being the KWPN-approved Mr Blue-son For the Moment. His abundant knowledge of sport and breeding makes him a great addition to the team that also includes Cor Loeffen and Wout-Jan van der Schans.

Both Wouter Plaizier and Eric van der Vleuten are eager to put their knowledge and experience to use and hope to make a contribution to the right stallion choice for the future.
