This morning, three harness stallions were up for their exam in Ermelo after a performance test of three weeks. All three stallions passed and were registered in the studbook. Neon GSM was crowned champion of this fall performance test. He comes out of the first crop of the KWPN-recognized Hackney stallion Bocellies Matteo. 

It was the second time in a row that a fall performance test was organised for the harness stallions. This examination took approximately three weeks. The stallion selection committee was compiled of chairman Lammert Tel, Bauke de Boer and Thomas van der Weiden, they were assisted by inspector Viggon van Beest. Lammert Tel explained: “It is an average year, in which the stallions did not perform above average grading-wise. However, two stallions that possess a very low and lower degree of kinship have been registered to the studbook. The third stallion, Norking Apple, descends from a solid damline that had not produced an approved stallion yet. 

Three stallions

Bocellies Matteo-son Neon GSM received an 8.5 for the rideability/attitude and almost exclusively eights for the other aspects. He has a low degree of relatedness and is therefore a true asset in the context of genetic variation.  Norking Apple (s.Icellie) was in close pursuit of the top scorer Neon GSM. He was also awarded an 8.5 for rideability and attitude. He received an 8 for the front, eagerness to go and overall image as a harness horse. Norbert FS (s.Urgent) is another lower related stallion that earned an 8 for suspension, the use of the hind leg and the rideability/attitude. 

Spectators were welcome at this final exam and the entire test was broadcasted via KWPN.tv. Later this week the footage can be watched on demand at KWPN.tv.

- Neon GSM (Bocellies Matteo x A New Day, breeder J.T. Seinen of Punthorst)
- Norking Apple (Icellie x Eebert, breeder N. Van Maaswaal of ’t Goy)
- Norbert FS (Urgent x Waldemar, breeder J. Bloemert of Staphorst)
