More than three years ago Lammert Tel bought the KWPN stallion Fantijn from Gebr. van Manen. Lammert bought the stallion with a view to the harness horse sport. Meanwhile the son of Patijn has been castrated and all his sights are set on the sport.

Lammert: "We bought Fantijn (Patijn out of Uderose keur pref by Manno, breeder H. Boelens from Bunne) for the sport and it was not our intention to make him available for breeding. Because of the covid-19 pandemic, there were no shows last year, so he came back to the Gebr. van Manen for breeding. The interest of the breeders stayed a little behind and this season there were some competitions again. I am not a stallion owner and I don't have the facilities for that. He is with us for the sport, so the choice was easy.

Frozen sperm
Fantijn already has many victories to his name. This year he won the stallion championship in Tolbert. "In the meantime the horse has been castrated and the recovery is going very well," he said. "He has been taken care of and is now back home. He will never leave us again and we hope to ride him in the sport for another three or four years. We still have a beautiful colt by him, which we will also keep. For the real fans there is still frozen sperm available."
